Log & Timber Connections had the great opportunity to provide Mark Zaturecky of Canadian Sustainable Timber Innovations samples of our ASSY Ecofast Wood Screws to help complete a demo of iHouse Project built from CLT (Cross Laminated Timber).  The iHouse Project was designed by Michael Katz MAIBC to be a product with great potential that would be an ultra-compact, mass-produced house, built out of wood and selling for a fraction of the cost of present-day housing. In May 2007 the Vancouver City Council approved major structural upgrades to the building located at 1122 SW Marine Drive and approved the appointment of Read Jones Christoffersen, (Vancouver, BC), as Consultant to prepare tender documents and provide project management support to remediate the structural deficiencies of the existing columns and beams. With technical support from UBC Wood Science, the structural engineers proposed that the project repairs would use the technology of ASSY VG Fully Threaded Screws to reinforce severely cracked beams to return the beams back to its structural integrity.

PAX Construction,(Burnaby, B.C.), was chosen to install ASSY VG Fully Threaded  Screws 5/16 x 23” at predesignated  locations along the beams at a 45 degree angles. PAX Construction installed over 7000 ASSY VG Fully Thread Screws supplied by Log & Timber Connections. VIEW PHOTOS
